ED+GINEERING DAY

Field Trip

During the Ed+gineering Day field trip, students from participating schools tour engineering labs, a residence hall, eat lunch in ODU’s Broderick Dining Hall, and participate in a 60-90 minute engineering lesson.

For Visiting Teachers

During the field trip elementary students have the opportunity to tour labs in the Batten College of Engineering and Technology. Some of these labs are linked below.

During the field trip, elementary students visit a residence hall and learn more about college life. The link below is a virtual tour of our residence hall.

Eating in the Broderick Dining Commons is another opportunity for elementary students to learn about life at Old Dominion University. The food options are linked below.

Old Dominion University has an interactive campus map, to help teachers and chaperones to know where they are going on campus. See linked PDF for information on the campus buildings included in the ODU visit.

For LeADERS

LeADERS is a pathway connecting undergraduate ODU students to enriching courses and active learning experiences resulting in a competitive edge in their chosen careers. Participating in an Ed+gineering project course satisfies the service requirement for the LeADERS program (i.e., the S in the LeADERS acronym). Ed+gineering assignments can easily be incorporated into a LeADERS e-portfolio.

Youth Programs Training

When minors come to campus for field trips, many of us are required to take required training for the protection of minors on campus. This links to ODU’s required training.

For Supervisors
